I usually say "I have my good days and my bad days" and quickly change the subject but this leaves me feeling, well, funny? mildly annoyed? There are days when making dinner is my sole vertical activity and I'm darned proud to have accomplished that much. Conversely, I'm also deeply ashamed at having done so little.
